Best Boat For First Time Boaters

We are often asked which type of boat would be best for a party who has never been boating before. There are a few considerations. Our recommendation to those lacking confidence is to go for a boat which drives from the front. These afford a piloting experience similar to driving a car, which most people are familiar with. You can see what is coming and it is easier to navigate obsticles such as bridges etc. Another advantage is that forward drive boats are usually the same height over their whole length with no raised wheelhouses to lower when approaching low bridges. Larger parties might prefer a boat which steers from the centre as the views you get whilst travelling are better than those on a one level forward drive cruiser, plus the extra "deck hands" on board can help with guiding the boat into difficult positions and with mooring etc. To see what is available click Hoseasons Boats

Dilham on the Norfolk Broads

Though Dilham village is just a 20 minute cruise from Wayford Bridge and the main river system, it seems a world away from the rest of the Norfolk Broads. The journey up the narrow canal which leads to the moorings is very picturesque and has the feel of cruising back in time. The free moorings have space for 4 or 5 boats and room to turn. A short walk into the village will take you to the Cross Keys public house, which boasts a bowling green. Food is served lunchtimes and evenings. Make this location one of your must visit places next time you visit the Broads. For more information on boatyards in the area and to check availability click Blakes and Hoseasons Boats.
